I tasted this excellent wine from barrel just before bottling. The 2015 Biserno will be released in September, and some 25,000 bottles were made. This edition offers a profoundly exuberant drinking experience that hits the senses with explosive intensity. The quality of the primary fruit is impeccable with Morello cherry, blackberry and dark prune. Savory spice and tobacco frames that fruit with precision and focus. This full-bodied red offers tightly knit texture and firm tannins. The 2015 vintage represents the culmination of a stylistic evolution and years of winemaking experience on behalf of the entire team at Tenuta di Biserno. There is no doubt in my mind that this is best edition of Biserno produced thus far.

Lodovico Antinori's 2015 Biserno is loaded with copious crème de cassis, blackberry jam, spice, lavender, violet and crushed rocks. Silky tannins and a range of floral/spiced overtones convey an impression of refinement. I would give the 2015 a year or two in bottle to allow the tannins to relax a bit.

This is polished and nuanced, offering plum, blackberry, leather and Mediterranean scrub flavors, backed by stiff tannins. Features lively acidity, and just as the tannins gain the upper hand, the sweet fruit returns. Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Best from 2020 through 2033. 2,083 cases made, 500 cases imported.
