Mostly Syrah with 23% Grenache, 20% Mataro, and 5% Tempranillo, the 2018 Claude's Cuvee has a juicy, elegant, yet still concentrated, classic Paso style with its black and blue fruits, ground pepper, chocolate, and violet aromas and flavors. With full body, an elegant, seamless texture, good acidity, and plenty of tannins, give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following decade.

Deep magenta. The highly perfumed nose presents a complex array of dark fruit preserve, floral, spice and savory herb qualities, and a hint of olive builds in the glass. There's excellent clarity and spicy lift to the wine's concentrated cherry liqueur, blueberry and spice-cake flavors, which gain intensity through the midpalate. Blends depth and energy with a deft hand and shows impressive energy and spicy thrust on a very long, gently tannic finish.

The 2018 Claude's Cuvée is a blend of 52% Syrah, 23% Grenache, 20% Mataro and 5% Tempranillo made using about 40% whole cluster and aged 20 months in 70% new oak. It has a deep ruby-purple color and aromas of crushed blackberries and red berries with notes of garrigue, aniseed and dried flowers. The palate is medium to full-bodied with lovely restraint and fresh fruit character, softly framed and finishing long with lots of juicy uplift. 247 cases produced.
