A broad, rich wine endowed with tons of depth and pure resonance. It is a classic Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon with attractive aromas of blackberries, black cherries and freshly cracked walnut and the recognizable minerality with crushed rock and graphite that we so often find on Howell Mountain. In the mouth you will find layers of subtle toast with cocoa and roasted coffee beans. The silky tannins are ripe, lush and well coated with a solid knit. It is an elegant yet dense wine with a velvety texture, great focus and length. This wine can be enjoyed now, but will improve with further cellaring.

Mostly Cabernet, with a small percentage of the other Bordeaux varieties, this is a very rich, dramatically layered wine. It's notable for both its intensely smooth tannins and the lush fruit, which suggests waves of raspberries, cherries, red currants, licorice, rose petals and oak, courtesy of 100% new French barrels. Yet there's an underlying minerality that gives firmness and grounding. Feels ultrarich on the palate now, and should ride out the next decade with ease.

Full medium ruby. Complex nose melds currant, chocolate, minerals, smoke and flowers. Quite broad in the mouth but not at all overly sweet, with serious structure underlying the flavors of currant, plum, chocolate and flowers. Finishes with a fine dusting of building tannins and a repeating chocolatey quality. This is more muscular than the 2005 but less perfumed and sweet today.
