Marchand Tawse Clos De La Roche 2015
(50% vendange entier): Healthy medium red. Initially deeply pitched, earth-bound aromas of very ripe strawberry and raspberry showed pungent stony minerality with aeration. Fatter, fleshier and sweeter than the young Clos Saint-Denis, offering more volume but less detail to its red fruit flavors in the early going. Finishes very long, with fine-grained tannins and a surprisingly juicy quality. The Clos Saint-Denis is finer while this wine is more muscular.
