The 2019 Chardonnay Cuvée Anne comes from several vineyards, including X Novo, Justice and Seven Springs, and matured in about 45% new wood. It has alluring scents of preserved lemon, saline and graphite, with perfumed white orchard fruits. The palate is linear and pure, with a satiny texture and gentle nutty character at this early stage. Its elevated length and purity suggest this has much more to offer with additional time in bottle.

Quite dry and put through complete malolactic fermentation, this retains its zip and zest with plenty of remaining acidity. The new oak is restrained but adds a nice toasty frame around what is still a stiff young wine. The compact fruit flavors deftly mix citrus flesh, citrus rind, green and yellow apples and a hint of seashell.
