More iron and bloody nuances as well as blue fruits emerge from the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville, a nicely balanced, ripe fruit bomb of a wine that holds on to a terrific sense of freshness and purity. It's another sexy mouthful of great Cabernet from this label to enjoy over the coming 15 years or so.

The 2019 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is mainly barrels of Tench Cabernet that weren't considered to fit the single-vineyard profile, plus some Merlot and Cabernet Franc. About 5% of the volume comes from another vineyard. On the nose, it delivers plum and black cherry fruit, plus hints of smoke and vanilla. It's full-bodied, with a bit more structure than the Project 18 offering, coming across as firm without being hard or tough, and it finishes long and silky.
