A blend of Bordeaux varieties, the 2016 M by Marciano displays a medium to deep garnet-purple color. It is a little youthfully subdued to begin, opening with delicate notions of fresh mulberries, black cherries and warm blackcurrants with hints of raspberry leaves, forest floor, violets and black tea plus touches of cedar chest and charcoal. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has fantastic energy, with layers of black fruits and earthy sparks supported by lovely freshness and a solid grainy texture, finishing long with an herbal lift.

Juicy, with dark currant and blackberry fruit showing good energy, while light charcoal, tobacco and roasted cedar notes fill in through the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2020 through 2026. 385 cases made. - JM
