A great vintage for Cabernet in Napa Valley, this classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon opens with fresh aromas of nutmeg and vanilla bean. The wine showcases complex fruit flavors of black cherry, plum, blueberry, and a hint of caramel apple. The rich and balanced mouthfeel finishes with a mocha flavor and velvety tannins.

Starting out with the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate (77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, 7% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot), it's a rocking Cabernet that should be snatched up by readers looking for a terrific value in Napa Cabernet at the 50 dollar price point. Blue fruits, sappy herbs, some damp earth, and a touch of mint all emerge from this charming, medium to full-bodied, fruit-loaded effort that delivers the goods.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate has turned out beautifully. Fresh, vibrant and full of energy, the 2016 shows the contemporary Clos du Val style at its best. Inky blue/purplish berry fruit, lavender, spice new leather and menthol add shades of nuance to this super-attractive, mid-weight Cabernet Sauvignon from Clos du Val. Once again, Clos du Val's Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is one of the very finest wines readers will find in this price range.

This is blended with 14% Cabernet Franc, 7% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot, the whole given 20 months in a combination of French and Hungarian oak. It shows bright floral aromatics and bold flavors of blueberry, cinnamon and clove. The texture is soft and well integrated, with a light finish.

Ripe, fresh and direct, with a rounded display of red currant and plum preserve flavors, backed by even-handed vanilla and cedar accents on the finish. An understated style. Drink now through 2025. 6,930 cases made.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is blended of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11.5% Cabernet Franc, 8.5% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot. It's deep purple-black in color and comes bounding out of the glass with vibrant black cherries, blackcurrants and warm plums scents followed by hints of tobacco, charcuterie, tapenade and lavender. Medium-bodied with a good intensity of uncomplicated black fruits, it has a chewy backbone and succulent finish.
