Another Oakville release, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper is similarly inky colored and has a ripe, sweet nose of blueberries, dark chocolate, violets, and tobacco. With full-bodied richness, remarkable purity of fruit, fine tannins, and a great finish, it's another beautiful, elegant wine from this estate that's up with the crème de la creme of the vintage.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard opens with baked cherries, boysenberries and blackcurrant cordial with mocha, cigar box and Indian spices. The palate is full-bodied and firm with good expression and density, finishing on a lingering mineral note.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper is powerful, dense and tightly wound. Dark chocolate, grilled herbs, tobacco, plum and licorice all imbue the 2017 with a real sense of power and gravitas. The tannins need time to soften, but there is a good bit of potential here. The 2017 is super-concentrated, dense and inky in style, with room to grow.
