Peter Michael Belle Cote Chardonnay 2020
|Region||California, Sonoma County, Knights Valley|
More linear than la Carriere or Mon Plaisir this vintage, the 2020 Chardonnay Belle Cote boasts narcissus-like florals, white peaches, lime zest and toasted almond on the nose, while the palate is medium to full-bodied and lush yet long and focused, with just a hint of mocha on the finish.
Shows salted butterscotch, peach and tangerine flavors that are polished and focused, with lemon blossom, poached pear and candied ginger notes on a plush, elegant frame. Features a fresh edge of acidity.
The 2020 Chardonnay Belle Côte is an attractive wine, but it also gives the impression of being not fully developed. Overall, the 2020 is raw, unpolished and simply lacking depth, which is not uncommon in this vintage. In 2020, the Belle Côte includes lots that would have typically been used for the Cuvée Indigene.
