LP98+ "The 2020 Syrah Head Held High comes from Bien Nacido and Sanford & Benedict Vineyards. Very deep purple-black colored, it needs a little swirling to unlock notes of chocolate-covered cherries, tar, lilacs, and charcuterie with hints of truffles and licorice. The palate is full-bodied, rich, and concentrated, with bags of freshness delivering energy and tension to the densely packed layers. Plush, beautifully rounded tannins coat the mouth, and the finish is epically long and savory. Forget it in the cellar for 5-6 years and then enjoy it over the next 20-years+. 312 cases were made." LP96 "The 2020 Grenache Head Held High comes from Bien Nacido and Sanford & Benedict Vineyards. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the nose leaps with notes of Morello cherries, juicy raspberries, and fresh blackberries, followed by hints of wilted roses, powdered cinnamon, crushed rocks, and white pepper. Full-bodied, the palate reveals layer upon layer of perfumed red and black berries with a satiny smooth texture and a lively line lifting the fragrant flavors to a long, long finish. 310 cases were made." LP97 "This 2020 White Wine Head Held High is a blend of 80% Chardonnay, 12% Roussanne, and 8% Marsanne from Bien Nacido and Sanford & Benedict Vineyards. Powerful scents of apricots, honeyed drizzled pears, toasted almonds, and juicy pineapple gallop out of the glass, leading to hints of fresh ginger and allspice. Full-bodied, the palate is wonderfully spicy, packed with juicy stone fruit and pears flavors, framed by a silken texture and seamless acidity, finishing long and savory.
