Sourced from two separate plots situated on opposite ends of this esteemed site, the unbridled energy and pedigree of this wine erupts from the glass within moments of opening the bottle. Provocative aromas of ripe black cherries, fertile loam, crushed gravel, graphite, wild blueberries and hints of truffle lead into an expressively vibrant core of fresh black raspberries, black currants, clove, purple flowers, pipe tobacco and baker's chocolate that captivate the senses with ease. Wrapped in an elegant cloak of mineral-laced tannins, the wine possesses supreme lift, depth and tension, all framed by a lingering finish of electric acidity and the occasional spark of red berries and spice. Aged in 100% new French oak for 22 months, the phenomenal 2018 growing season is on full display, highlighting the uniqueness of this infamous vineyard while spotlighting the finesse driven and seductive style that has become the hallmark of this offering. Built to last, this has serious cellar potential for years to come.

Coming all from clone 4 Cabernet, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Las Piedras Vineyard is another gorgeous wine in every sense. More red and black fruits, camphor, dried flowers, and tobacco define the bouquet, and it's full-bodied and flawlessly balanced, with building yet ripe tannins and the purity and elegance that defines the 2018 vintage. It's slightly more finesse-driven compared to the more overtly powerful Dr. Crane release, but it should evolve for just as long.

Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard was aged for 22 months in French oak, 100% new. Deep garnet-purple in color, it needs a little swirling to reveal gorgeous red currant jelly, blackberry preserves and fresh black currants scents with an undercurrent of camphor, rose oil and cloves plus a waft of fragrant soil. Full-bodied, concentrated and with a lovely backbone of freshness, it has beautifully ripe tannins and a long, harmonious finish. 150 cases were made.
