Coming all from clone 4 Cabernet, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Las Piedras Vineyard is another gorgeous wine in every sense. More red and black fruits, camphor, dried flowers, and tobacco define the bouquet, and it's full-bodied and flawlessly balanced, with building yet ripe tannins and the purity and elegance that defines the 2018 vintage. It's slightly more finesse-driven compared to the more overtly powerful Dr. Crane release, but it should evolve for just as long.

Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard was aged for 22 months in French oak, 100% new. Deep garnet-purple in color, it needs a little swirling to reveal gorgeous red currant jelly, blackberry preserves and fresh black currants scents with an undercurrent of camphor, rose oil and cloves plus a waft of fragrant soil. Full-bodied, concentrated and with a lovely backbone of freshness, it has beautifully ripe tannins and a long, harmonious finish. 150 cases were made.

This packs in the typically vivid array of 2018 fruit, with raspberry, boysenberry and plum pâte de fruit notes streaming through, inlaid with red licorice and graphite and backed by a plush yet driven finish. Best from 2022 through 2036. 130 cases made.
