The 2020 Sauvignon Blanc La Proportion Dorée is 69% Semillon, 30% Sauvignon Blanc, and 1% Muscadelle. It's a deeper, richer white with notes of honeyed toast, white fig, lemon meringue, and chalky minerality. This full-bodied, powerful effort will shine on the dinner table and should have an interesting evolution over the coming 15+ years.

Morlet's flagship blended white is the 2020 La Proportion Doree (The Golden Ratio), a marriage of Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and a tiny splash of Muscadelle, which he co-ferments with the Sauv Blanc. Offering up understated aromas of ripe fig and melon, plus hints of crushed stone and citrus zest, this medium to full-bodied wine is a dry, richly textured white that's not as rich or concentrated as either the 2019 or 2021, but it's still a strong effort, ready to drink now through 2030.

The 2020 La Proportion Dorée, Morlet's Sauvignon/Sémillon blend, is a very pretty wine, but not quite as opulent as it can be. There's plenty of nuance, if not quite the layered depth that is common in less traumatic years. Apricot, tangerine peel, chamomile, lemon confit, marzipan and a hint of truffle lend complexity throughout. I imagine the 2020 will age well on its brightness.
